GARNACHA TINTORERA
Red variety obtained in France by Dr. Bouchet, where it is called Alicante Bouchet.
PHENOLOGY
Early sprout and average ripening.
CLUSTERS AND BERRIES
Small cluster with medium density. Medium-sized berry with an intense blue colour.
PESTS AND DISEASES
Sensitive to mildew and escoriose.
AGRONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS
Medium vigour and erect vine, with low yields but regular in dry and hot climates. Slightly sensitive to drought, very sensitive to wind and spring frost.
OENOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Intense red colour wine, with a moderate alcohol content and balanced acidity, but with a lack of finesse and elegance. Used in coupages to provide wines with colour.
