ALBARIÑO
Quality white variety produced in Galicia (D.O. Rias Baixas and less in the D. O. Ribeiro).
PHENOLOGY
Very early sprout and maturation.
CLUSTERS AND BERRIES
Small-sized cluster, sometimes with a wing. Small, round berry with dark golden and slightly brownish colour when ripening.
PESTS AND DISEASES
Sensitive to oidium. Slightly sensitive to mildew. Very resistant to botrytis.
AGRONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS
Fertility begins from the third bud. Medium yield due to its clusters and fertility; therefore, it requires long pruning. Requires fertile and cool soils.
OENOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS
High alcohol content (12-13º) with a remarkable total acidity (7-9). Great organoleptic quality. It is one of the most valued varieties in the market.
