Old minority variety from La Rioja that is currently under a recovery program and study on its cultivation at a more global level in order to structure the personality of the oils within the D.O. of La Rioja.
Agronomic characteristics
Low vigour and high resistance to cold temperatures in winter; therefore, it is a variety highly suited to the conditions in La Rioja and the Ebro valley.
Morphology
Leaf: lanced shape, not very long.
Fruit: rounded, medium-sized fruit, without a nipple. Small, disperse lenticels.
Stone: round and symmetrical.
Product
High oil yield and quality. Blends well with the Arbequina variety.
